How would you model this

Ken - are you getting stuck on the low poly or high poly?

I would do it in Zbrush using 2 cylinders the first for the top section use radial symetry to create the grooves then the second for the bottom piece then I would combine them using Dynamesh,

Oh Im sorry, it was the high but I had figured it out. I just doubled the amount of faces on the cylinder and extruded every other one. But Tyler if you have any tips for the high I would greatly appreciate it. Also thanks for the help Malcolm.

Should be pretty straight forward. Start w/ a 7 sided cylinder then put two control edges on either side of each main edge to create that pinch. In the middle of the larger faces you'll want to place another control edge and scale those verts in to create the nice inward curve.

I don't have Max installed so I can't whip something up - sorry!

Malcolm has a great Zbrush suggestion as well!

Thanks for the tip Tyler. After I sat down and thought about it it came together pretty easily.
